30-Day Prayer Challenge, Day 3

“Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always” (1 Chronicles 16:11).

Thoughts On Yesterday’s Challenge. I learned today that I am often a slave to convenience. I had a set time for my prayers, but it wasn’t convenient; so I pushed it back half an hour. After all, what is a half hour to a big God? Right? Surely God has nothing better to do with His time than wait for Mr. Krause to finish up things that should have been done earlier, to finish up things that were needed done yesterday.

It is obvious that God’s time is precious, so much more precious than mine.

And yet He shows time and again that He has time for us; He makes time for us.

The Scripture

So often I have heard people pray for the strength to make it through a delicate situation. But God would have us seek help from His strength. Sometimes the quickest way to victory is the path of brokenness and weakness. When Paul sought the Lord for relief from his “thorn in the flesh”, God told him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV emphasis mine).

By all means, desire to be strong in your faith! But never trust in your own strength.

Blessings on your day!
