30-Day Prayer Challenge, Day 23

“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually” 1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV)!

The Verse

I’m amazed by the impact that being mindful of God’s presence can have. There really is nothing impossible for God. And when He is present, and we are aware that He is present, we can face any obstacle, any challenge, any difficulty.

While some may have become Christians for fear of Hell, or peer pressure, or because it makes good business sense, we all need to elevate. We need to mature. And Christian maturity (discipleship!) is not about us; it’s all about Him.

Today’s verse, although written before yesterday’s verse–I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken” (Psalms 16:8 ESV)–is really the next step in the process of maturity. We remain mindful of His presence, not only so that we won’t “be shaken”, but also because we desire His presence.

Such desire doesn’t usually come over night. We must seek Him until He is all we seek! “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 ESV).

We tend to worry about things and situations and then seek God. God’s Word tells us that we seek God first, and then we need not fear or worry about anything.

Remember to stay mindful of His presence, even if you need to set alarms to remind you!

Blessings on your day!
