“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered” (Proverbs 11:25 ESV).
The world’s version of this verse is, “what goes around comes around.” Some call it karma. But the blessings of God far outweigh any cosmic balance sheet.
The world does not understand God’s wisdom. They say, “Get what you can for yourself, and give from your abundance (if you want).” God’s wisdom says, “Give of yourself, and you will always have what you need.”
The world tells us to put ourselves first; but God tells us to put others first.
We tend to find frustration when we follow the world’s wisdom. Sure, it might be nice to have everything we could ever want. But once we have those things we find that what we really wanted isn’t there.
“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these” (Luke 12:27 ESV).
When we set our heart’s attitude to be a blessing rather than receive a blessing, we will find the meaning of Proverbs 11:25.
My prayer for you is that you will discover, more each day, the joys of being a blessing.
Blessings on your day!
