“So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience” (Hebrews 4:9-11 ESV).
If you are new to the Skipping Stones blog, each week we look at a new topic or scripture. Monday through Thursday I post a scripture or quote that ties into our theme. Fridays I post a more lengthy writing that pulls everything together.
Some of us find life and meaning in their lives and professions. But whether you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, a stay-at-home parent, a custodian or a fry-slinger at a fast-food place, we all need rest.
This week I’d like us to think about rest and the role it is intended to play in our lives. As you go about the business of your day today, mindfully consider these questions:
- What does the word rest mean to you?
- Outside of sleep, do you have a regularly scheduled time of rest?
Please share your thoughts in a comment below, and have a blessed week!
Rest: sitting with God and just listening for His voice. Feeling His peace and presence wrap around you!
